dhāgā is a matrimony and dating service. This policy explains what personal data the app collects, why we collect it, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. It applies to the dhāgā mobile app and nothing else.
To create an account we collect your email address and password. During onboarding you provide your name, date of birth, gender, and up to three photos. You may also provide your location (country, state, district and locality as text — we do not collect GPS or precise device location), height, marital status, mother tongue, religion, caste, education, profession, employer, income range and a short bio. Some of these are treated as sensitive information in India; you choose whether to provide them, and they are shown to other members as part of your profile.
We store the messages and photos you exchange with your matches, your likes, passes, matches, blocks, and any reports you submit. We also store a notification token for your device so we can deliver push notifications, along with your device platform.
We use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand how the app is used and to diagnose crashes. We record a small set of events — sign up, log in, interest sent, match, and message sent — without any accompanying personal details. Crash reports include diagnostic information about the error and your device. Both are associated with your account identifier, which is a random ID rather than your name or email.
We use your profile to show you to other members and to show you profiles matching your preferences. We use your messages to deliver them to their recipients. We use your contact details and device token to send service and match notifications. We use reports, blocks and message content to investigate safety complaints and enforce our Terms. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Other members see the profile information and photos you choose to publish, and the messages you send them. Beyond that we share data only with the service providers that run the app: Supabase (database, authentication, file storage) and Google Firebase (push notifications, analytics, crash reporting). We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the safety of our members.
Your data is stored with our backend provider, Supabase, in their Asia Pacific (Mumbai) region. Your messages are also cached on your own device so the app works offline; clearing the app data or uninstalling removes that local copy.
Profile photos are visible to other members using the app. Photos you send inside a chat are stored at a private, randomly generated web address that is not listed or searchable, and is shared only with the person you sent it to. Anyone who is given that address can open the image, so treat a photo you send as something the recipient can keep.
We keep your profile and messages for as long as your account is open. When you delete your account we remove your profile, photos, chat media, messages, likes, passes and matches from our systems. Reports you have filed about other members are retained without your profile attached, because they may be needed for an ongoing safety investigation. Backups and analytics records may persist for a limited period after deletion.
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account. This is immediate and cannot be undone. If you can no longer sign in, email support@dhagamatrimony.in from your registered address and we will delete the account for you.
You can view and correct most of your information directly in the app under Profile → Edit Profile. You may also ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or erase it, or withdraw consent for its processing, by writing to support@dhagamatrimony.in. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.
If another member reports your profile or a message, our team may review the reported content to keep the community safe. We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that break our Terms of Service.
dhāgā is strictly for adults. The service is not directed to anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to a minor we delete it. If you believe a minor is using the app, report the profile in the app or email support@dhagamatrimony.in.
Data is encrypted in transit, access to the database is restricted per-account by server-side rules, and credentials are stored using your device secure storage. No service can promise perfect security, so please use a strong, unique password.
We may update this policy as the app changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised, and we will notify you in the app about significant changes.
For any privacy question, request or complaint, contact us at support@dhagamatrimony.in and we will respond as quickly as we can.
